A broad-spectrum specialist responsible for the early diagnosis and treatment of many diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, lungs, liver, kidneys, cardiovascular and genitourinary systems, skin, metabolic disorders, and more. The internist coordinates the entire diagnostic and treatment process: conducts the first consultation, orders the necessary tests and examinations, and, when necessary, refers the patient to a specialist.
